Taylor Woodrow, one of the most well known brands in construction was founded in 1921 by sixteen year old Frank Taylor. By the 1940s Taylor Woodrow had grown to such an extent that it was decided that overseas expansion would be necessary.
The company undertook early overseas projects in West Africa in the 1940s, building large scale infrastructure and entire towns. In the 1950s, the company began expansion into North America and Canada, constructing housing and related infrastructure. Taylor Woodrow grew internationally in the 1960s, working extensively in South America and Asia.
